The zone is back after a day or two of absence, maybe someone else has
noticed. I was skeptical of it's return but still hopeful. I think it's timely to ask
pertinent questions about a community without a communal place in a sense. Is
there a way for all of us who want to keep in touch with one another to do so?
Is it time to gather up those we want to keep up correspondences with? Is it
time to assume the worse before the worse could happen? Just in case of course
that 500 server error keeps up for longer periods of time and refuse to resolve?
There's also been talk of an impending end perhaps. What is everyone's
thoughts on this?
If it was going to end I believe these two things.
First, one of the admins would have made a site announcement and topic on the boards.
Second, they wouldn't have brought it back this time.
Of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the members in Safe Haven, nor the CLs, but only the Admin. Keep on the watch, therefore, because you know neither the day nor the hour.
I see what you did there... I figure if there are people you want to keep in contact with, send them a private message/quicknote and ask them right out. Exchange numbers, Skype information/real names etc. That's all we can do. And it should be enough as long as they're around and want to respond.
That is probably what anyone should do if they are interested in another.
No matter what the site you meet them on does, yif you like them enough, keep in contact.
I have to agree with post 2. I'm hopeful. But as others have said, no matter where you meet a person, online or off, you should get their contact information if you want to be sure to stay in touch with them. Happy zoning!
I am skeptical of either prospects. I tend to agree with you Keri, but then again
the way the admins has also handled problems doesn't help their own case.
That would be the right way to close down the site, but some of their decisions I
found hasn't been always rational or logical. In a sense look at the way he chose
to disable the premium purchase page. I gather it wasn't diplomatically. This
site is not a stable one either, I gathered from what I'd heard before coming on,
there were a similar issue. I have become very cynical about this place. I've
found after all there a few who I could keep in touch with. a few I think I may
want to, but haven't completely decided on it. My question really came down to,
is this place too unstable for the risk?
and how do you know they disabled it. Maybe it is a bug that they are still trying to work out. Don't just assume. Keep in mind JJ runs his own business, and Chris has a very busy job as well. They can't devote all day to this site like some may be able to. In other words, they have a life.
It’s never too soon or late to exchange contact info. Why wait until it goes down? If

since I first heard about this, I've had a number of thoughts
1: it was something started for halloween
2: it was a rumour to try and bring old users back to the site (and if that was the case, it hasn't really worked)
3. it was something someone heard, they posted about it, and now everyone's talking about it (let's not forget we've heard no official word from the admins)
the site is currently not making money (the premium purchase page is broken), so if it closed, that could be a reason why
also a lot of people have moved on to social networks or other platforms. I think their is a strong case for it closing
staying open would be nice, but I don't think i'd blame the admins if they did close it
I agree, someone has to be paying for the server space, and the domain registration. That isn't free. If the site is not generating any sort of cach flow why would it remain?
I agree with the Oracle completely. Would personally like to see the zone stay around, but I completely understand if the owner decides to shut it down. So, if anyone wants my skype info, feel free to ask me for it this week. Always like to make new friends. Smile.

I have not been able to come on here for days due to technical issues preventing me to log in to lastpass where my passwords are stored. Now that its resolved where they have disabled two factor, I've returned as I got an email about a topic I subscribed to.
I was not aware of the site being offline, and someone can correct me, but a 500 internal server error is caused by something like over quota or some other error that needs to be corrected.
I have that issue with one of my sites when I tell the platform to back up the site, but it is back to normal once the large file is removed from the server.
As others have said, nothing official has been said about whether this site is coming down or not, but I do have my white cane travel site that I've tried to advertise here for awhile. Its not meant to make money although the donations are welcome. Its there to educate.
I'm not here to try and advertise here, but just to say that not all sites are about the money, although this site did have things that took more bandwidth so paying for it supported that.
I do hope that the admins will let us know whats up with the site before it closes.

well, who wants to contact me will find a way. I noticed the site was down and
wrote a private message to the zonebbs twitter account, didn't think it would
make a difference but it was worth a try and the 500 internal server error was
fixed
Last pass is a password manager, secure note taking, including sensitive information such as bank account info, not so much sensitive such as storing credit card and other info in regards to software licenses, drivers licenses, and anything else you need to store securely. Here is their web site. Other sites include one password, and key pass. All do the same type of thing.

if that's really a way to try to get members back that was an interesting attempt
and sort of silly really! I don't know how that is suppose to attract anyone.
same with my profile, I put it out there assuming anyone has access. They're
spare accounts of mine I created years ago that I don't mind people adding. I
don't promise on being on those alll the time though.
Oh no I don't blame the admins for closing the site if they do I was more
concerned with staying in touch or people staying in touch with whoever they
wanted to stay in touch with.

someone posts ah, the site is closing,
then everyone rushes back, posts to keep it open and starts like a patition thing
and thanks for the lastpass info, drimer. I need something like that in my life
yeah, I don't know how convinced I am of that, I only came back because I
thought about it and apple peaches mentioned this place on vorail.
